Welcome

Thank you for visiting my online digital resume and professional portfolio. Please take a look around and get to know me!

On an average day, I wear many hats as the project manager for Carolina Ear & Hearing Clinic, PC, an ear subspecialist clinic; for Carolina Ear Research Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to offering innovative continued medical education to local and regional doctors focusing on hearing healthcare; and for Camp Woodbine, a nonprofit day camp for hearing-impaired children.

I am the owner and founder of jgfairytales Freelance Services, where I edit, critique and proofread fiction manuscripts for self-publishing and emerging writers from all around the globe. Currently, I am in the process of writing a Wattpad featured guidebook titled, “Edit like an Editor: A Wattpad Guide to Writing, Revising, & Publishing.” It has well over 30,000 views and holds its highest ranking in Wattpad.com’s Non-Fiction Hot List at 5 out of the top 1,000.

I am also attaining my Master’s in Public Relations at Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I am a firm believer that there’s always more to learn. I plan to utilize this degree to further my knowledge of public relations in multiple industries other than non-profit, which is where I currently have the most experience. I also wish to broaden my knowledge of reputation management, which is the PR industry niche I’d like to pursue my career in.

I currently volunteer for Second Chance Pet Adoptions here in Raleigh, focusing on event promotions and cat/dog care. It’s like therapy for me, not just for the animals.

I have a broad experience in event planning, social media coordination, proofreading, copy editing, technical and creative writing, brand awareness and project management in consumer, corporate and non-profit industries.

My previous experience includes freelance PR and social media consulting for a local business, as well as three large non-profit PR campaigns during my undergraduate career.

I know how to manage my time wisely with a variety of projects, and my day-to-day activities are a great example. Another great example is how I was able to handle three different campaigns while also being an undergraduate student with a part-time job. Check out more about me to find out how.

I aim to broaden my horizons in the Raleigh-Durham area, where I can add fuel to an aspiring company thanks to my many passions.

Follow me on Twitter or shoot me an email. I’d love to hear from you!
