I am a passionate storyteller through the art and science of public relations. I have more than a decade of experience in strategic, digital, internal, and crisis communications, strategic technical and creative writing, proofreading, copy editing, event planning, social media strategy, media relations, project management, public relations campaign logistics, and brand awareness in consumer, corporate, and nonprofit industries.

As a senior communications advisor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, I amplify the company’s voice and position it favorably with key stakeholders, including current and potential employees, the news media, business and community leaders, consumers, employer groups, the financial community and health care providers.

As owner and founder of jgfairytales Freelance Services, I offer extensive editorial services for professional and emerging authors worldwide, part-time, spanning all genres.

I received my master’s degree in public relations from the PRSA-certified online program at Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2018 and my bachelor’s degree in public relations from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 2015.

When I can, I volunteer in various positions I’m passionate about, including work with animals and children, as well as political advocacy and public relations. I also spend my free time writing fiction.
